Sachin Doshi

Founder & Chairman

Sachin is the Founder & Chairman of Emerald Lake. He seed-funded the Weave Co-Living portfolio company and chairs the board. Prior to starting the firm in 2017, Sachin spent over 15 years in the real estate investment, asset management and investment banking industries working for large global institutions like APG, Merrill Lynch and Citigroup in Sydney and Hong Kong. He has lived in Hong Kong since 2007.

Most recently, Sachin was the Managing Director & Head of Asia Pacific for €450 billion Dutch pension giant APG Asset Management, based in Hong Kong. In this role, Sachin was responsible for all aspects of the pension fund manager’s Asia Pacific real estate investment portfolio. He was also on the board of APG Asset Management Asia and part of the firm’s global real estate management team. Under his tenure, APG’s portfolio in Asia Pacific expanded from €2.2 billion to over €4.5 billion. In 2016, APG won the Asian Institutional Investor of the Year in the PERE Awards – the first time the firm won this prestigious industry recognition, under Sachin’s leadership.

Sachin is passionate about conceptualising, creating and scaling up businesses through a hands-on approach to operations and talent management. He is deeply interested in the behavioural patterns of the “smartphone generation” and addressing key challenges facing young people – most importantly housing and social needs.

Sachin is a member of the Urban Land Institute and in 2016 was selected as ULI’s 40-under-40 most influential people in the global real estate and urban land use industries. He graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia with first class honours in Engineering and Physics and was awarded the University Medal. He is fluent in English and Hindi.
